Our Story
It all started with a phone call in 2012.
Today we help shape drug discovery projects across the world.

How it started
Back in 2012, our CEO Michael Dabrowski was Christmas shopping when he got a phone call. Someone said they had an invention that could change drug discovery. Michael said, “Well, good luck with that,” and hung up. Despite this, he was sent a paper explaining this invention. Michael read it. Many times. Soon the conversation started and Pelago Bioscience was founded.

Why it mattered
At the time, there was no straightforward way to determine cellular target engagement under native conditions. Many early decisions relied on simplified systems that did not reflect how biology behaves in cells. CETSA introduced a way to determine whether a compound binds its target in a cellular context. That shift helps teams confirm on-target engagement, compare compounds within a series, and prioritize what to take forward.
What we do today
Pelago Bioscience works with drug discovery projects to design and run cell-based studies. We plan the study with you, choose the correct format, and deliver clear data that can expedite your project forward. The aim is simple: bring cell context into earlier decisions without adding unnecessary complexity.
