Associate Scientist HPLC/MS Facility – Permanent/Fulltime

Qualifications:

  • University Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry, or related field. Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a relevant research or industry setting.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be part of the Lab Support unit within the Lab Operations department where our main responsibility is the delivery of high-quality project work for our customers. You will be working closely with and supporting colleagues across all functions and will be an integral member of the Lab Operations team. Your primary focus will encompass the operation, maintenance, data collection, sample preparation, performance evaluation, and meticulous documentation within our mass spectrometry (MS) facility.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Help with sample preparation, data collection, processing, and transfer.
  • Schedule and run HPLC & LC/MS analyses.
  • Day-to-day facility upkeep, including routine maintenance and performance evaluation of facility instruments, preparation of buffers and reagent aliquots, and facility-related ordering and inventory.
  • Schedule and facilitate equipment service visits.
  • Contribute to development, review, and enhancement of current standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Comply with safety regulations, laboratory protocols and documenting procedures.
  • Provide support and training to facility users.

Requirements

  • Keen interest in analytical methods and instrumentation.
  • Preferably hands-on experience with HPLC and MS instrumentation, for instance from a core facility or routine analysis setting.
  • Proficient in standard lab techniques (e.g. pipetting).
  • High attention to detail and enjoyment of routine tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • English working proficiency.
