Senior Scientist - High Throughput Screening

We are looking for a Senior Scientist with industry experience in cell-based high throughput screening technologies. Do you thrive in the laboratory and have experience with operating and developing robotic liquid handling systems for high throughput screening? This could be the opportunity for you!

 

Pelago Bioscience is a company located in Solna that today has approximately 40 employees. We deliver in situ target engagement studies to accelerate preclinical drug discovery and development to a worldwide customer base.  We work with a mission to unleash drug discovery for better human health and focus on value in our partnerships. Pelago Bioscience is now looking to grow our high throughput screening team with a Senior Scientist position to further develop our screening pipeline. The role is offered as a permanent position (after a 6-month trial period) with a competitive salary and benefits program.

 

About the role:

The senior scientist in the high throughput screening unit at Pelago means you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, analyze and report project work
  • Operate various liquid handling instruments
  • Design & develop future capabilities for our screening platform
  • Ensure efficient project execution and support colleagues with training and protocol development
  • Working with SOPs and reporting with ELN
  • Participate in interactions with customers
  • Present and utilize scientific literature

 

Your background:

You will have at least 5 years of experience working with high throughput screening applications in a drug discovery setting. Experience with Agilent Bravo liquid handling equipment would be desirable but hands-on experience with automation, bulk liquid dispensers, multimode plate readers, and the analysis of HTS data would be a requirement for this role. We are keen to further develop our automation capability and experience in this from a hardware or software perspective would be beneficial. As a person, you work well independently and as part of a dynamic team. You can multitask and work successfully on several projects simultaneously. You are responsible and decisive as well as highly organized and have excellent time-management skills. You have very good analytical skills and are a proactive problem solver with a positive attitude. You are keen on relationships, with colleagues as well as customers and communicate well in written and spoken English.

Key Account Manager

Pelago Bioscience is now looking to increase its commercial operations team with a Key Account Manager. This is an opportunity for a credible and trustworthy person to help Pelago build long-term relationships with our partners. The position is offered as a permanent position (after a 6-month trial period) with a competitive salary and benefits program.

 

About the role:

The Key Account Manager role in the Commercial Operations unit at Pelago means you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth of our CETSA® service portfolio.
  • Lead Generation by attending conferences, targeting key customers, and expanding contact base within accounts.
  • Proactively develop new market opportunities.
  • Identify new opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Contribute to the commercial operations unit strategy.
  • Deliver presentations, lead discussions, and manage to follow up with customers.
  • Handle financial discussions and contract negotiations with customers.
  • Contribute to the growth of Pelago’s service portfolio beyond CETSA®.
  • Participate in marketing activities, such as developing marketing material or representing Pelago Bioscience at international scientific conferences.

 

About you:

We believe that you have a Life Science relevant PhD, MSc or BSc degree: Biochemistry, Molecular or Cell Biology combined with a solid background in sales and business development, preferably in selling preclinical research services to biotech and pharmaceutical companies.

As a person, you have sales and negotiation skills with a strategic mindset in your key account management. You are keen on relationships, both with colleagues and with customers. You are positive and open-minded as well as highly organized and have good time-management skills. We see that you can work both independently as well as part of a team and are flexible, acts proactive, and are a good problem solver. And of course, you speak and write fluently in English.
